MTELLP Essay Samples - How to Develop Your Essay Writing SkillsMTELLP essay samples are a series of classroom exercises designed to give students a quick introduction to essay writing and the principles of essay composition. The most effective essay will make use of some or all of the examples included in the MTELLP manuals.Although there is no single comprehensive collection of essay samples, there are many exercises in the MTELLP books that can be used as a basis for the development of an essay of your own. The practice exercises offer students a chance to build up skills in grammar, proofreading, and sentence structure by creating the body of their essays from the basic exercises.The book sets out a procedure for the writing of essays. It divides the procedure into five chapters and also provides much advice on how to select the ideal essay topic, how to choose a topic, how to arrange the text and the main body of the essay, and how to start the essay by starting with the first pa ragraph. Each chapter contains sample essays, containing short passages on the appropriate subject matter, which can be easily modified to fit with the teaching objectives.The first four chapters deal with the writing of a review essay. Students learn about the fundamental parts of a well-written essay by exploring these three sections and practice them. They also learn about the different types of errors and other problems that can occur in academic writing. They are shown how to overcome these problems and avoid the use of incorrect language and writing techniques.The next set of essays is about the writing of the initial essay. Students work on completing an essay on a topic that has been prearranged by the instructor. At the end of this phase, students have to write a summary of their work. This part of the book is based on the section of the essay in the first class, which dealt with the problem of determining a subject.In the next part of the book, students learn about the wri ting of the writing essay. There are several different topics that are introduced here. A sample essay on a new language, a travel diary, a report of a committee assignment, and a reflection essay are all included in this part of the book.The last chapter is an assignment to read and analyze the essays. Students must identify the purpose of the essay, what they expect to find in the essays, and how they intend to evaluate them. They must evaluate the essays according to the instruction that has been given to them and present their findings. The book does not provide guidelines for the evaluation of essays, but students must study the sample essays carefully to figure out how to assign different grades to them.Since the MTELLP books do not contain any sample essays, students must rely on their ability to identify the topic and the way it is presented in the essay samples. As soon as they have a good idea of what the essay is going to be about, they should proceed to the writing of th e body of the essay and see how well they understand the process. They will then be able to identify the pattern they have followed and find it easy to produce similar essays in the future.
